Ice Skating is On at Shichahai, Summer Palace
Ice skating is officially open at as of Jan 11 and the as of Jan 10, according to Beijing Evening News.
Spanning Qianhai and Houhai, visitors and tourists can hit the ice with single and double “ice seats” – a vehicle of sorts that’s like a sled with poles for gliding along the ice – as well as ice bicycles, with an area of Houhai cordoned off for your more traditional ice skating.

To join the fun, all it takes is a ticket. At Shichahai, tickets start at RMB 60 on weekdays and RMB 80 on weekends and holidays for comprehensive tickets; RMB 30 on weekdays and RMB 40 on weekends and holidays for proper ice skating.
Skate rentals meanwhile, will set you back another RMB 30 per pair with an RMB 100 deposit. Guest limit is capped at 75 percent for epidemic control, and visitors are asked to show their health kit and journey cards before entering.
Hitting the ice at the Summer Palace
Skating at Shichahai is open from 9am-5.30pm daily, with Qianhai open to skating at night from 5-9pm.
At the Summer Palace, meanwhile, daily opening hours for skating are 8.30am-5pm, with entry ending at 4pm.
